This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) is an electronic record in terms of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder. This Policy does not require any physical or digital signature and is generated by a computer system.

SALCI (“Company”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy, integrity, confidentiality, and security of information shared by users of the SALCI platform (“Website” / “Services”). This Policy explains how information is collected, used, processed, stored, and protected when you access or use SALCI.

1. Introduction

SALCI is an Education Intelligence System designed to analyze academic and assessment-related data to generate learning insights, competency signals, patterns, and decision-support intelligence for educational institutions, educators, and students.

SALCI is built in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with a focus on:

  • Competency-based learning
  • Conceptual understanding
  • Formative and continuous assessment
  • Data-informed academic decision-making

SALCI complements national digital education initiatives such as DIKSHA by enabling interpretation of learning data. SALCI does not operate as a content delivery platform, learning management system (LMS), coaching platform, examination system, or advertising platform. All data processed by SALCI is used only for educational insight and institutional decision support.

2. Definitions

  • “User” means students, teachers, school administrators, institutional partners, and authorized representatives using SALCI.
  • “Child” means a person below the age of 18 years.
  • “Personal Information” means information capable of identifying an individual, including name, contact details, and institutional identifiers.
  • “Assessment Information” means academic responses, scores, competency indicators, performance trends, and learning signals.
  • “Non-Personal Information” means anonymized, aggregated, or technical data that does not identify an individual.
  • “Information” collectively refers to all the above.

3. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to:

  • All visitors of the SALCI website
  • All registered Users accessing SALCI Services
  • All educational institutions using SALCI under formal arrangements

By accessing or using SALCI, you agree to the collection and use of Information in accordance with this Policy.

4. Applicability to Children

SALCI processes data relating to children only through authorized educational institutions or with verifiable parental or guardian consent, in accordance with applicable laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

When SALCI is used in an institutional setting:

  • Schools are responsible for obtaining necessary parental permissions.
  • SALCI processes such data solely for educational analysis and insight generation.
  • SALCI does not independently market to, advertise to, or directly communicate with children.

5. Types of Information Collected

a) Personal Information

Name, email address, phone number. Institutional identifiers such as school, class, and role.

b) Assessment Information

Academic responses and scores, learning patterns, competency signals, performance trends, and progress indicators.

c) Usage and Technical Information

Device type and browser information, IP address (anonymized where reasonably possible), interaction logs for platform security, reliability, and improvement.

SALCI follows data minimization principles and collects only Information necessary for delivering its Services.

6. Purpose of Information Collection

Information is collected to:

  • Generate learning insights aligned with NEP 2020 competency-based frameworks
  • Identify academic strengths, gaps, and learning trends
  • Support educators and institutions in evidence-based decision-making
  • Improve platform accuracy, reliability, and performance
  • Maintain system security and lawful usage

SALCI does not use Information for advertising, profiling, or commercial targeting.

7. Information Not Collected or Used For

SALCI does not:

  • Sell Information to third parties
  • Display or run advertisements
  • Profile Users for marketing purposes
  • Monetize academic or assessment data
  • Permit access to data brokers

8. Consent

By accessing or using SALCI, you provide consent for the collection, processing, and use of Information as described in this Policy. Requests for withdrawal of consent or deletion of Information may be subject to applicable laws, institutional obligations, and legitimate educational requirements.

9. Data Retention

Information is retained:

  • Only for as long as required to provide Services
  • As mandated by applicable laws
  • As required under institutional or contractual obligations

Data that is no longer required is securely deleted or anonymized.

10. Data Security

SALCI implements industry-standard security measures, including:

  • Encryption of data at rest and in transit
  • Role-based access controls
  • Secure cloud infrastructure
  • Continuous monitoring and internal security reviews

Security and privacy safeguards are embedded into SALCI’s architecture by design, consistent with national data governance principles and the spirit of NEP 2020.

11. Third-Party Service Providers

SALCI may engage trusted third-party service providers for cloud hosting, infrastructure, system support, and aggregated analytics. All such providers are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable data protection laws.

12. User Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and lawful Information
  • Maintain confidentiality of login credentials
  • Use SALCI in compliance with applicable laws
  • Not misuse, manipulate, or reverse-engineer insights or analytics

13. Artificial Intelligence Usage

SALCI uses artificial intelligence and analytical models to identify learning patterns and trends and generate insight-based intelligence from assessment data. AI-generated outputs are decision-support tools only and do not constitute academic certification, grading authority, or final judgment.

14. Reference to DIKSHA

References to DIKSHA are solely for indicating alignment with national digital education initiatives. SALCI is not affiliated with, operated by, or officially endorsed by DIKSHA or the Ministry of Education, Government of India. SALCI does not access DIKSHA data unless explicitly authorized in accordance with applicable laws and institutional permissions.

15. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time. Revised versions will be published on the Website with an updated date. Continued use of SALCI after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

16. Limitation of Liability

  • Academic or administrative decisions taken solely based on insights
  • Losses arising from misuse or unauthorized access
  • Events beyond reasonable control, including force majeure events

17. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
